Behind the Design…
This outdoor mural started as a way to draw attention to the flower shop that lives in the building. It was previously an auto body shop, and there was really no way for potential customers to identify what kind of business was in that space (plus, it was boring!). Our main goal was to feature the tagline “flowers for the people,” with some floral artwork using colors in their logo, so people could identify the brand from the road. Then on the opposite side, we wanted to create an interactive “selfie” wall, for people to participate in the artwork. But for these two pieces to make sense, we needed to connect them, so we covered the whole wall with their brand color, threw some pops of color in and around, and added a little illustration of the shop dog, Duke. It brightens the entire neighborhood, showcases the personality of the flower shop, and draws attention to the business.
